Washington Street Brigade

# WASHINGTON STREET BRIGADE Join BLAI for a new kind of civic engagement: simple messages, neighbors showing up, and one hour on Washington Street. This is not a rally or protest. Think of it as an **in-person social media post**. We’ll line the street with pre-made signs sharing one clear message with our community, Burma Shave style. **REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.** Each Brigade is limited to 20 people. Register through Mobilize for the specific date and message you want to join. All signs are provided. Just register, show up, grab a sign, and join your neighbors. **Meet at 6th & Washington | 4–5 PM** ## Tuesday, September 15 ### Are You Better Off Today Than Two Years Ago? Our first Brigade asks a simple question: *Are you better off today than you were two years ago?* Join us to hold a series of pre-made signs encouraging our neighbors to think, participate, and vote. ## Thursday, September 17 ### Tired of Everything Being Red or Blue? Vote for Decency. A child’s lunch. Clean water. Medicine. This Brigade focuses on the things that shouldn’t have to be red or blue and asks our community to **vote for decency.** ## Tuesday, September 22 ### Make a Plan to Vote Mail-in ballots take time. This Brigade shares practical voting information and encourages our neighbors not to wait until Election Day to make their plan. ## Thursday, September 24 ### Felony Conviction? Know Your Voting Rights. This Brigade shares a simple and important message about voting rights in Minnesota: having a felony conviction does not automatically mean you cannot vote. **Know your rights. Register. Vote.** ## Friday, September 25 — DOLLY DAY ### Be Like Dolly: Kind. Compassionate. LGBTQIA+ Friendly. This one is about the kind of community we want to be. Kind. Compassionate. Welcoming. **Rhinestones highly encouraged.** Dolly Day is open to **30 people** because we want a whole lot of rhinestones on Washington Street. **YOU MUST REGISTER THROUGH MOBILIZE FOR THE DATE YOU PLAN TO ATTEND.** Space is limited, and registration makes sure we have the right number of people and signs for each Brigade.
