Kensington Plaza, Brooklyn, New York
About
The upcoming elections are potentially the most important elections this country will have since it’s founding. Early voting has already begun in several states and from attacks to mail-in voting to redrawing districts to voter intimidation, we need to be prepared. We need our communities to be able to move quickly in the same direction in the event of any catastrophic event or threat that hits us. We saw what happened in MN this winter and in DC on January 6th, 2020. It may seem that in New York City there isn’t much we can do — there is. But, it will take all of us working together. On September 20th we will talk about the ways you can help and get you the resources you need. Brooklyn Resisters (a local all volunteer Indivisible group) is partnering with Hands Off NYC and community groups in Kensington, Brooklyn to build stronger connections, to learn how to protect our communities, and to learn how to defend our elections. There will be Hands Off NYC events all over the city Sept. 18-20th. This will be the third Community Weekend of Action that Brooklyn Resisters are hosting at Kensington plaza in collaboration with Hands Off NYC.
