About

According to the Brookings Institute Approximately 60,000 people are being detained in ICE detention facilities in the United States and approximately 400,000 people have been booked in detention centers managed by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency. Many of the people held in ICE detention have children who are either detained in ICE facilities, or they are wards of the state in which they live. Either way children are separated from their parents, siblings and extended family. Children shouldn't be separated from their families while their parent's immigration status is being adjudicated. Many of the children caught up in the recent immigration dragnets are American citizens and some have even been deported along with their parents which is against their constitutional rights. Join us on September 26, 2026, from 1 pm - 3 pm in Tucker, GA for a march to demand an end to the anti-family, anti-child policies of ICE. The march will begin at our office in the Realty Associates office located at 3350 Northlake Pkwy behind the Northlake Mall and proceed down Parklake Dr. past the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services offices (USCIS) office to LaVista Rd. We will turn left onto LaVista Rd and proceed across I-285 to Northlake Pkwy where we will cross LaVista Rd and turn right to proceed back across I- 285 and down LaVista Rd. We will continue to marching to Henderson Mill Rd and cross LaVista Rd to Parklake Dr turn left and return to our office in the Realty Associates office at 3350 Northlake Rd. We will also be accepting canned and non-perishable food for local food banks Toco Hills Alliance, Midtown Cares, North Decatur United Methodist Church and Community Food Center. You may drop off your donation at our office, or you may visit our website www.pocketbookbrigade.org to make a monetary donation. This will be a peaceful protest we are engaging off duty DCPD officers to provide security. The entire route is wheelchair accessible. We will have crossing guards at every intersection to provide safe crossing for march participants. Providing the additional security that the DCPD officers provide will cost $2,800. Please help us with the cost of security by visiting our website and making a donation. We have an unblemished record when it comes to peaceful protests. We believe providing DCPD officers for protection has kept anti-protesters from making mischief at our marches. Please visit www.pocketbookbrigade.org to make a donation. If you would like to volunteer for this event, please email [email removed]. This is a peaceful protest. No vulgar or violent behavior will be tolerated. Everyone is expected to behave peacefully and to respect property and law enforcement. We are marching to demonstrate our persistent resistance to the unconstitutional, criminal and immoral policies, procedures and actions of the current administration and to show our support for the people who have been adversely affected by their actions. We are excited that you are going to join us at this march. We are also asking people to contribute if they can to the food drive to support the In Town Cares, Toco Hills Alliance and the Atlanta Mission. We will be accepting food donations at the march headquarters. Thank you for your support. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, February 21st at 2 pm at the Northlake Festival "Tower" Shopping Center. This a local Indivisible event! *A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
