About

# Operation Roll Call comes to Fayetteville. On Saturday, September 26, 50501 Veterans is running [Operation Roll Call](https://www.50501vets.com/roll-call/), a veteran-led national day of action joining two commitments that belong to the same people: ending endless wars, and defending free and fair elections. Local actions are happening nationwide. The flagship is in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and we are standing it up shoulder to shoulder with Common Defense and the Fayetteville Resistance Coalition. Common Defense's [Operation Take Up Space](https://commondefense.us/otus/) is a 300+ mile, women-veteran-led ruck march across North Carolina to stand up for our democracy and ethical leadership, strengthen our communities, and model what courageous action looks like in uncertain times. From September 12 through October 3, 2026, women veterans, veterans, military families, and community members will travel more than 300 miles across North Carolina, connecting communities through four major anchor events in Asheville, Charlotte, Fort Bragg, and Wilmington. Each stop will serve as both a public demonstration of our values and a large-scale organizing opportunity centered around one of Common Defense's strategic campaigns. The [Fayetteville Resistance Coalition](https://linktr.ee/fayresistancecoalition) is partnering with Common Defense for the September 26th stop, and that stop is where Roll Call plants its flag. We'll gather at 10 AM at the [Umoja Wall of Honor](https://maps.app.goo.gl/CRVGp77ZvR2PMA949) mosaic mural at Fayetteville State University and walk together 1.6 miles to the U.S. Army [Airborne and Special Operations Museum](https://maps.app.goo.gl/nXjiqPx1kvcaiJ27A), where veterans, military families, and community members will hold an anti-war demonstration. After the rally, we're heading to Carolina Indie Fest at [Hugger Mugger Brewing](https://maps.app.goo.gl/8RETwLp39fJrMTtn9) in Sanford to celebrate exactly what we're fighting for: art, music, friendship, creativity, community, and joy. We'll have voter registration available throughout the festival, live music, local artists, community partners, and a special beer brewed for the occasion. ## Can't get to Fayetteville? Roll Call still has a seat for you. [Find or host a Roll Call event](https://www.mobilize.us/vetsandneighbors/host/) in your own community, and register for election defense: observation, de-escalation, and voter accompaniment. Roles exist for people who cannot travel. The [organizer toolkit](https://www.50501vets.com/roll-call/toolkit/) has what you need to run your own. Common Defense and the Fayetteville Resistance Coalition are organizing partners with the [Veterans Against Fascism](https://www.vetsagainstfascism.org/) coalition, alongside 50501 Veterans. If you are active duty or a veteran and want to take a stand against authoritarianism, [join us](https://airtable.com/appa6XgWAse7bxgVr/pagMZScLwrPo5NNXc/form). Nonpartisan. Nonviolent. Veteran-led.
