Sunrise ATX Community Hour + Protest for Wilber
Sunday, September 27, 2026, 4:00 PM CDT
Pelons. Tex Mex, Austin, Texas
About
Sunrise ATX is hosting a community hour + for all current + potential new members! After the social hour, we will march to the Capitol together to join in at LFU & L4A's protest in solidarity with Wilber Rafael Garcés Pérez. If you've never done this before, attending a protest can seem nerve-racking (even when it's a very low-risk event), and we totally get that! The goal of this event is to gather a group together so that anyone anxious about attending their first protest can feel more comfortable while getting to know Sunrise ATX members. Details: - 4-6 pm Community Hour @ Pelons Tex Mex (participants encouraged to arrive no later than 5 pm) - 6pm: Walk over to Capitol as a group (end time up to you after that) - Open to all ages! If any organizers from other groups simply want to decompress with other organizers before the protest, all are welcomed! IF YOU HAVE DISABILITY/MOBILITY ACCOMMODATIONS: Please RSVP for the event then DM us on instagram (@sunriseATX). We will arrange transport for those unable to walk from Pelons to the Capitol. If you haven't done so already, make sure to fill out our new member interest form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfbf3HSzhQZa-vVjODVcn5kduNe6vZi3t1UJx30oWBjmTaLBw/viewform?usp=header
