Signs of Fascism Protest

Good Trouble/Indivisible Norwalk and Greenwich Indivisible invite you to join us for a Signs of Fascism event on Saturday, October 10th from 11:15 AM to 12:30 PM. Unlike our usual boisterous protests, this is some serious street theater, we're dressed in black, silently witnessing the hold fascism has taken on our country. We've had a lot of positive response from the community, frequently calling it "very powerful". See what it's like in this video of our last event: https://tinyurl.com/4cww8ruj We have the signs, date and location — all we need are 30 people willing to hold a sign for one hour to make this happen! We'll meet and organize in the parking lot on the corner of North Avenue and Knight Street at 11:15 AM. You'll choose your sign and we deploy to the street at 11:30. We will be presenting our signs along North Avenue (Route 1) from High Street to Park Street. This Is a slow moving stretch of RT1 giving folks time to read the signs of fascism. **Please dress in solid black** if possible — it looks powerful in formation. No worries if you don't have all black, what matters is that you show up! Please be a firm commitment when you sign up, since we'll stop recruiting if we get enough people in time. There's nothing wrong with a sign being held by two people if we get a crowd, so bring a friend (the more the more powerful). Let’s make this happen. Let’s make one hour count! Rain date: the following day, Sunday the 11th, same time and place. Please watch your email for any schedule or weather updates! IMPORTANT: We continue to have an overwhelming positive response from drivers but in the rare occurrence there is an anti-protester, DO NOT engage with any agitator. We ask all involved with our group to remain calm, non-violent and peaceful. There are always experienced protesters in attendance if anyone needs assistance de-escalating any situation. Stay safely on sidewalks, making room for passers-by. Only cross roads at designated crossing points.
