Tonight's Craftivism meetup for Indivisible (10/8) is going to switch to a NEW LOCATION for a couple of reasons. The new location is the organizer's house in Western Springs. IF YOU SIGNED UP, call [phone removed] for the address. ON 10/8 , We will only be folding Zines and making Signs for the Info Tables. (The button-maker cannot be checked out of the library so we will NOT be making buttons tonight. ). Why are we moving? 1. We cannot get the large room at the Westmont Library tonight so we would have to split up into several rooms which would not be as fun or as productive. Plus the library closes at 9 and ....; 2. THE WHITE SOX GAME IS TONIGHT! So please join fellow Craftivists and Baseball fans for the Sox game and Crafting tonight at 6:30pm til the game ends. All supplies furnished. BYOB. Light snacks provided - feel free to bring your own neat snacks - nothing gooey or greasy because we are crafting!! UPDATE FOR 10/14: TIME SWITCHED TO MORNING - 10:30AM - 12:00PM. UPDATE FOR 10/15: TIME SWITCHED TO EVENING - 6:30PM-8:00PM ORIGINAL POST: Join fellow crafters, makers, and creatives from the Indivisible community when we meet up to make physical objects to spread the word about Voting Early and Protecting Our Vote! Great family event for teens accompanied by parents! You can sign up your teens as your guest without providing their contact info if you prefer. But before that event takes place, WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW as we fold Zines into booklet form and make Vote Early Buttons with the library's button- maker. All skill levels welcome! This meetup is also a great opportunity to learn something new and also share ideas for future craftivism! As we fold the zines and make the buttons, the event organizers will gladly teach you what we know about: -What's a zine? -How do you create one? -How do you fold one? -How do you use a button-maker? -How do you create the image for the button? Then let's start building a local Indivisible community of crafters, makers, and creatives. For example, some of you may crochet or knit and have ideas for yarn bombing. Share YOUR ideas and let's see what we can do together in the coming days to creatively intervene in our country's political conversation with productive, thoughtful, and even loving acts that interrupt cynicism and mistrust with human-made, in-real-life expression. **Locations and times might change closer to the events.
