About
Join the women of Ozaukee Indivisible and our allies for a “Candlelight Rage” on Thursday, 10/8 from 6:30-7:30 PM. We will gather at the Northeast corner of Mequon Rd & Cedarburg Rd (in front of the Mequon/Thiensville sign). Park at City Hall (11333 N Cedarburg Rd). From the Cornell rapists to Trump, from universities to government, our institutions continue to protect rapists while women are left fighting for our lives. These crimes against women are nothing new and we have had enough! Every woman we know carries the fear of sexual violence in her body. We carry it in the keys between our fingers, the drink we never set down, the text to a friend when we Uber home. The fear does its job every day. October 8th, we join others across the country in the “Stop Sexual Violence” National Day of Action to stand in solidarity with Jane Doe, Epstein survivors, and survivors everywhere. Bring signs, a candle and your rage! The tone of this event will be a departure from our usual family friendly vibe, so parents are encouraged to use their discretion. We are mad as hell and our music and signs will reflect that! October is also Domestic Violence Awareness month. You are welcome to bring a donation to support a local shelter assisting women and children fleeing domestic violence. Condiments, snacks, lotions and other personal care items are always welcome. If you are experiencing domestic violence and are ready to find help, please reach out to this crisis hotline: [phone removed] or visit: advocatesofozaukee.com Ozaukee Indivisible is committed to nonviolent civic engagement. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at our events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events. https://ozaukeeindivisible.org/get-involved/
