Singing The World We Love: Hands Off Our Vote!

We vote for us! Join Singing Resistance PDX in joyful defiance as we sing the world we love into action. One of Singing Resistance's goals is to mobilize large numbers of people into the movement to defeat authoritarianism. Join us at The Lantern to sing together and build community, get out the vote, and learn what you can do to move our election defense organizing plan forward. We need all votes on deck, and your voice matters. "Singing doesn’t solve the crisis in front of us; it keeps us human while we face it. It steadies hands for the work, widens the room for grief, reminds the body that it belongs with other bodies." –Ahlay Blakely We've got the power. We were made for these times. May the singing help us remember, resist, and remain.* This is a free, all-ages, ADA accessible event. Donations to help cover the cost of the space are gratefully accepted, but not required. <<MASKS>> Flu and Covid-19 are already surging this season. Please wear a mask unless it’s medically necessary for you not to. We do this to protect each other. We keep us safe. *a reference to Ahlay Blakely’s sharings about the origins of her song quoted above: “The Dark Times,” from the Anthems for an Apocalypse album.
