About

This is a local Indivisible event, happening in Johnstown on Sunday October 18th! With the outrages perpetrated by the Trump Administration mounting by the day, we are coming to raise our voices in protest and to encourage action. We recognize that the most meaningful way to be heard is by our full participation in the voting process. So we will show up with our flags, our banners, and our signs in order to peacefully and respectfully express our views. But MOST IMPORTANTLY, we commit to the steps below. (Use of the Vote411 website, developed by the League of Women Voters is encouraged. ) * Checking our registration NOW to make sure we are able to participate in the fall election. * Helping others to check their registration status/ getting registered to vote. Deadline to register is Oct 24th. * Making a plan to VOTE EARLY and including family and loved ones in our plans! * First day of early voting in NYS is Oct 24th and the last day of early voting is Nov 1st. We'll vote on day one if possible! * If voting by mail, submit your ballot ASAP, preferably by delivering it to your local Board of Elections or at a Ballot Drop Box. * We will share about our voting plans and actions on Social Media to encourage others to participate. * We may even write a Letter to the Editor of our local newspaper, encouraging others to exercise their precious right to vote! ***A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.***
