_⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTE: Powered by People is halting all voter registration activities at our events from October 5 (the Texas voter registration deadline) to Election Day. During these events we will be helping voters make a plan to vote and answer their questions ahead of this important election!_ ### Ready to do the work that actually works? In 2024, our face-to-face voter registration model achieved a massive 79% voter turnout among the Texans we registered. We aren't just hoping for change—we have the blueprint to create it. Join Powered by People for a high-impact **Voter Mobilization** shift at **Texas Alliance for Retired Americans Rally**! We are showing up to talk to voters, spark meaningful conversations, and make sure every eligible Texan is ready to make their voice heard. At this event, we will: - Engage directly with attendees - Ask people if they are active and have a plan to vote - Connect with voters using **Reach**, our relational organizing tool, so we can personally stay in touch with them all the way to Election Day ### Shift Schedule & Flow To ensure a smooth and high-impact day, please plan to arrive early for our team huddle. Here is what to expect during your shift: - **9:45am-10:00 am: Team Huddle** | Arrive early to grab your materials, meet the team, and align on our goals for the event. - **10:00am-11:00am Voter Mobilization** | The main event! We engage community members, check their voter status, add people to Reach, and immediately answer questions related to the upcoming election (poll locations, time, ballot, etc.) - **11:00am-11:15am: Debrief** | We will reconvene, tally our total number of Reach adds, make sure all voters are texted and tagged, celebrate our wins, and talk about next steps. ### How to Prepare Before you arrive, please make sure you attend our **[mandatory online volunteer training](https://www.mobilize.us/poweredxpeople/event/908390/)** on Zoom. This training will get you fully up to speed on the flow of our events and teach you exactly how to navigate the Reach app. ### What to Bring To set yourself up for a successful shift, please bring the following items: - Your fully charged smartphone with the Reach app already installed - A water bottle to stay hydrated - Comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing _Note: Literature, giveaways (when applicable), and training cheat sheets will be provided during the huddle_ Let's keep building our momentum across Texas.
