About

Since early 2025, when DOGE first kicked into action, Never Give Up has been out twice a week, lining the sidewalk along a block of El Camino in south Palo Alto and urging our neighbors to help save our democracy from the billionaires and politicians who have been barreling over the will of the people. This No Kings Day, we are devoting our usual Saturday protest to a celebration of our democracy, as we urge passing traffic to demonstrate their patriotism by voting, and voting early. Please join us and make it a party. Signage is easy: Write VOTE or VOTE EARLY on any size paperboard you have, or borrow a sign from our sign library. *No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation: we are bringing **our community** together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard. Because no one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do. On October 17th, join us in local events across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings. *No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.* *A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
