Stop the Michigan City Google Data Center Takeover Protest
Tuesday, October 20, 2026, 6:30 PM EDT
City Hall Michigan City, Michigan City, Indiana
About
Join us today! At a recent Michigan City Common Council meeting, just a few weeks after the indefinite tabling of a moratorium introduced by Councilors Nelson and Moldenhauer, Councilors Kora and Dabney introduced a new data center moratorium that would exempt the Google Project Maize Data Center and all phases at 402 Royal Road. Help us come together ahead of tonight's council meeting to tell the Council we oppose this moratorium in its current form, which effectively exempts Google and all phases of their data center. We need a moratorium that actually protects our Michigan City communities, NOT Big Tech! Schedule: - Protest outside City Hall: 5:30-6:30 PM - Council meeting: Beginning at 6:30 PM RSVP today to join us, and bring a neighbor and a friend. See the moratorium ordinance and council agenda here (the moratorium begins on Page 100: https://michigancityin.gov/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/October-20-2026-Council-Agenda-w_Attach-1.pdf.
