Dialing for Democracy — the Final Senate Push

Join us on the last weekend before Election Day for a special Get Out the Vote (GOTV) event! On the final Saturday before the election, Indivisible Palo Alto Plus (IPA+) and Blue Turn Indivisible will be hosting an in-person phone bank at the Democratic Volunteer Center (DVC) in Mountain View. As we head into the final push before Election Day, we need all hands on deck to reach out directly to voters in critical U.S. Senate races. Talking with voters increases the likelihood that they will not just vote but also vote for pro-democracy candidates. Help us keep the momentum going, and help turn the Senate blue! Our GOTV efforts could make the difference in the handful of tight races that will determine which party controls the Senate. The stakes couldn’t be higher: Control of the Senate would give Democrats the power to confirm judges and Supreme Court justices, to control hearings and investigations, and to decide which bills reach the Senate floor for a vote. **How It Works** Our efforts directly plug into a coordinated national infrastructure designed to identify, target, and mobilize key voters in pivotal battleground races. By connecting to a nationwide data network, you can be sure that every call you place has the potential to make a difference. This system will allow you to use your time efficiently to target voters in the races that matter most during the crucial final days before November 3. **What to Expect** Making calls together, as a community, creates a special kind of energy. Whether you’re a brand-new caller or a seasoned volunteer, you’ll leave with new skills, meaningful connections, and the satisfaction of working to defend democracy alongside fellow activists. - **Snacks and refreshments:** We will provide light snacks and beverages to keep our energy up. - **No tech required:** DVC will supply laptop computers and other needed equipment, all set up and ready to use. No need to bring your own phone or laptop. Just bring yourself! - **On-site training and support:** First-time phone banker? Don’t worry! A trainer will introduce you to the tech setup, walk you through the call script, lead practice calls, and make sure you feel confident before you make your first call. Friendly, experienced organizers will be on hand throughout the session to answer questions and to cheer you on. - **Focused outreach:** Our efforts will focus on making GOTV calls to known supporters. You’ll help ensure that likely Democratic voters have everything they need to cast their ballots in essential Senate races. Show up whenever you can. We’ll get you set up right away.
