About
**Pack the court. Show up. Stand together.** On Tuesday, October 27 civil rights advocates, community leaders, and Louisiana voters will participate in a Day of Action surronding the motion to dismiss hearing in *Louisiana v. Callais*, a case challenging Louisiana's congressional map and its remaining majority-Black congressional district. The day will begin with supporters gathering to pack the courtroom as a three-judge panel considers pro-voter groups' motion to dismiss the case. Immediately following the hearing, co-counsel and clients will hold a press conference to discuss what occurred in court, the stakes of the case, and its implications for Black voters and fair representation in Louisiana. The Day of Action will conclude with community leaders leading Louisianans to head to the polls on the final day of early voting. The effort is intended to ensure as many eligible Louisianans as possible exercise their right to vote and make their voices heard before early voting ends. **Our communities have a stake in the outcome, and we need to be in that courtroom.** **Schedule** - **9:15 a.m.** – We ask for a timely and early arrival to get through security with no hiccups - **10:30 a.m.** – Hearing begins. We're asking everyone to attend and fill the courtroom, and we ask that everyone be in their seats by then to avoid any conflicts or interruptions. - **12:45 p.m.** – Press conference immediately following the hearing, - **1:00pm** – March to the polls **Why it matters:** A dismissal would end this case and protect Louisiana's only remaining majority-Black congressional district, the 2nd, from being redrawn. It would also give voters certainty about the district they live in and the representation they have. **Bring:** Signs to support this dismissal of the case, your voice, your neighbors, and your ID for early voting.
