DYING TO VOTE FOR DEMOCRACY HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR

Come with friends and family to our Halloween/Get Out the Vote-themed visibility that highlights Trump’s damage to our democracy, civil society, public safety, & our “life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness”—and the need to vote to rein him in! Large signs will read “VOTE!,” “END THE NIGHTMARE,” “REIN HIM IN,” and “OUR VOTE = OUR STRONGEST RESISTANCE.” We have 4 unisex ghost/grim reaper costumes, 3 of which people can borrow for the event (one of us will wear the 4th). You can make a ghost hood out of some white cloth or a pillowcase. Or you can just dress in black. We have a dozen 20” x 30” foamboard “gravestone” signs with curved tops, painted grey, with different messages written in thick marker. A sample of the signs: HERE LIES EDUCATION / "I LOVE THE POORLY EDUCATED"--DJT; HERE LIES LADY LIBERTY / DIED GRIEVING FOR THE HUDDLED MASSES; RIP DEMOCRACY 1776-2026 (?)/ VICTIM OF MAGA; HERE LIES SCIENCE / DENIED TO DEATH BY THE GOP; etc. We have a couple of bells, and hope to have spooky music too. This type of visibility is a kind of street theater where no one expects a huge crowd, and it draws attention, so it works fine with few OR many people. It doesn't matter. If more of you come than the number of gravestones we have, that’s fine too—you can borrow some of our other protest signs or bring your own while standing with the ghostly contingent. Parking: On the street, behind the public library (73 Locust St), or in the Orchard St parking garage (45 Orchard St).
