About

The Salmonberry Trail is hosting an art show in collaboration with the local non-profit, One Room Studios. We will also be featuring local "On the Trail" Artists to further the Salmonberry Trail's mission to connect local businesses to the greater community! Jeff Beers will be featuring his collection "Paper and Raincoat" on the first floor of the Salmonberry Trail Office. On the second floor, we will be featuring local trail artists Alison Graves from Buxton Hill Farms, and Richard Knight of Richard Knight Studios in Timber. ### Gallery Hours (Thurs Nov 12 through Sat Nov 21): - Opening Reception is Thursday, November 12 from 5-8PM - Thursday and Friday from 5-8PM - Saturday from 12-8PM #### About the Artists: ##### Jeff Beers: "“Paper & Raincoat” are the two main ingredients of a new series that unfolds like a myth cycle of life and death. Beers painstakingly made it out of scraps of thin sheets of paper that he’s aged for 30 years, and surplus raincoat material from Columbia Sportswear. (Beers got the latter from the local nonprofit SCRAP Creative Reuse.) After 16 months of meticulous work, these two simple ingredients have found cosmic depths in this series of 8 pieces." ##### Alison Graves: "Set in the foothills of the Coast Range, Buxton Hills Farm is an 80-acre historic homestead and small woodland. The naturally abundant land, originally the homeland of the Atfalatl and Kalapuya people, remains home to deer and elk, owls and hawks, newts and frogs, bobcats and coyotes. Since the early 1900s the farm has been home to the Genzers, Raffertys, Wilsons, Mitchells and now the Graves family. Along the way the families have grown strawberries, prunes, hazelnuts, dairy cows and Christmas trees. Since 2015 we have cultivated the small woodland for recreation and wildlife, with an emphasis on sharing the land with friends and family to learn about forestry and farming while having fun. We partner with organizations that share our interests to celebrate the seasons and learn together about the plants and animals that call this place home." ##### Richard Knight: "Richard Knight Gallery is a craft store you should certainly visit, as you're sure to find something that will catch your attention. I offer a variety of wooden boxes, metal rose's(copper, steel and brass), beaded necklaces, pearls, and jade. I make use of a variety of sturdy materials in my crafts, but some things remain consistent in all my designs – a keen eye for detail and impeccable design, for starters."
