Great Falls Día de los Muertos Day of Action - End the ICE Age

This weekend of the Día de los Muertos, join us to honor and remember the lives taken by ICE and Border Patrol — and to demand an end to the violence. Night of Remembrance We will assemble in front of the Federal Courthouse 125 Central Ave. West at 6 pm. (Sunset is at 6:10 pm Oct. 30) Phones under our chins illuminating our faces while the names of the deceased while in ICE custody will be read aloud and repeated by the crowd. Then moving out towards the bridge chanting, “Remember the dead. Remember the immigrant(s).” With our phones raised above our heads, repeating as we walk forward until we are spread the length of the bridge. We will pause for a moment of silence, phones off. Then we will return back towards the courthouse repeating “Remember the Dead. Remember the Immigrants.” phones raised over our heads. Another moment of silence, a plea for the cessation of violent and illegal detentions, and a blessing of peace and then we disburse in hope. A core principle behind all Disappeared In America events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
