📣 Tyranny Tuesday • November 3, 2026 • Indivisible Northern Nevada ✊ Election Day Call to Action: Ride the Big Blue Wave ⏰ New time! Tyranny Tuesday is moving from 10:00 to 12:00 because of the end of daylight saving time. 🕛 See you at the new time on November 3! 🗓️ 🗳️ This Tyranny Tuesday, Our Protest Is a Ballot Tuesday, November 3 is Election Day and our next Tyranny Tuesday. 📅 Every week we stand on the corner with our signs. This week, we turn every sign into a vote. ✊We have marched, rallied, and called our representatives for months. 📢 But there is one place where tyranny has no answer to ordinary people: the ballot box. 🇺🇸 On November 3, we don't just protest power we replace it. The world has been showing us how it's done. In the last seven months alone, voters in three countries walked into polling stations and walked out with their democracies back. 🌍 🌍 When Citizens Show Up, Strongmen Fall Hungary: The "Illiberal State" Voted Out For 16 years, Viktor Orbán was the model for would-be autocrats everywhere the man MAGA held up as a hero. 🏛️ He captured the courts, turned public media into a party mouthpiece, and gerrymandered the districts so the opposition needed roughly 5 points more than him just to win a majority. It didn't matter. On April 12, Hungarians turned out at about 79%, the highest since the fall of Communism. 🔥 Péter Magyar's Tisza party won about 54% to Fidesz's 37% and a two-thirds majority in parliament. Orbán conceded. Note this: Vice President JD Vance flew to Hungary the week before the vote to help push Orbán over the finish line. 🇺🇸➡️🇭🇺 Hungarian voters said no anyway. Magyar called the vote a choice between East and West, and between corruption and clean public life. Crowds in Budapest chanted "Russians out!" 🎉 Brazil: Turnout Turned a Loss into a Win On October 4, Trump ally Flávio Bolsonaro, son of jailed former president Jair Bolsonaro, beat President Lula in the first round, 47% to 45%. 😬 About 33 million Brazilians stayed home, even though voting is compulsory there. Three weeks later, on October 25, Lula's campaign went after exactly those missing voters in Brazil's biggest states. 🚪 He won the runoff - a comeback no Brazilian presidential candidate had pulled off in nearly four decades. Analysts credit higher turnout. 📈 The lesson: the people who stay home decide elections. Serbia: Students Beat a Strongman — Just Days Ago Aleksandar Vučić ruled Serbia for more than a decade. ✋ For nearly two years, students marched against his government. Then, on October 25, they turned their protest into a party list and their marches into votes. 🎓 Turnout jumped about 10 points to nearly 70% the highest since Yugoslavia broke up in 1992. 📊 The Student List won about 53% to Vučić's 40%, and Vučić conceded on election night as fireworks lit up Belgrade. 🎆 Sound familiar? Protest built the movement. Voting finished the job. 💪 Country Election day Turnout Result Hungary April 12, 2026 ~79% (record since 1989) Orbán out after 16 years Brazil Oct 25, 2026 (runoff)Higher than round one. Lula comes from behind to beat Trump ally Bolsonaro Serbia Oct 25, 2026 ~69% (record since 1992) Vučić concedes to student movement. 🌊 Why We Need a Big Blue Wave The Constitution gave Congress the tools to check a president: subpoenas, hearings, the power of the purse, and Senate confirmation. ⚖️ A rubber-stamp Congress has left those tools in the drawer. A Democratic Congress picks them back up on January 3. 🔨 🔍 Accountability for Corruption With gavels in hand, Democrats can open investigations, put officials under oath, and follow the money. 💰 Every hearing room becomes a place where the public sees what was done in its name. No more "trust us." Show us. 📂 🤝 Rebuilding the Alliances That Made Us a Superpower America didn't become a superpower alone. 🌐 We built it with allies NATO, our Pacific partners, our trading partners. Dwight Eisenhower, a Republican, was NATO's first Supreme Allied Commander because he knew alliances multiply American strength. 🎖️ This administration has treated those allies like enemies. 🚨 In January, Trump slapped tariffs on eight NATO allies Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and Finland because they sent troops to defend Greenland, a NATO ally's territory. The Kremlin welcomed the move as evidence the Western alliance was collapsing. Even Republican Sen. Thom Tillis called the tariffs bad for America, its businesses, and its allies. Trump backed off within weeks but allies remember who threatened them. Every tariff on a friend is a tax on American families and a gift to our adversaries. 🎁 Siding With Putin Against Ukraine In October, after a call with Vladimir Putin, Trump struck a deal on Russian diesel exports after pressing Ukraine to stop striking the Russian refineries that fuel Putin's war machine. ⛽ A Ukrainian official said Trump's envoys threatened to cut Ukraine off from U.S. support. Putin, meanwhile, would not…
