About
# Día de los Muertos Vigil & Altar: Remembering Lives Lost at the Hands of ICE This Día de los Muertos, join us in Philadelphia as we come together to honor and remember the lives taken by ICE and Border Patrol, both inside and outside immigration detention, and demand an end to the violence. On **Monday, November 2 at 6:30 PM**, the Shut Down Detention Campaign will gather outside the **ICE Field Office at 114 N. 8th Street** for a community vigil and altar to remember those we've lost. Rooted in the Día de los Muertos tradition of honoring loved ones, we'll gather to grieve publicly, remember the lives behind the headlines, and stand together for a future where all our communities can live with dignity, safety, and freedom. This vigil is part of **End the ICE Age**, a national day of action taking place across the country from October 31 through November 2. Together, we're demanding that Congress get ICE out of our communities, redirect ICE funding toward what our communities actually need, and shut down ICE detention centers for good. Here in Pennsylvania, we continue that fight through our collective efforts to shut down the Moshannon Valley Processing Center and bring people home to their families and communities. ## Event Details - **When:** Monday, November 2, 2026 | 6:30 PM - **Where:** ICE Field Office, 114 N. 8th Street, Philadelphia, PA - **What:** Community vigil and Día de los Muertos altar - **Bring:** A white candle, if you can! **Our loved ones deserve to be remembered. Our communities deserve to live free from ICE violence and detention.** ### Community Safety This is a peaceful, nonviolent gathering. We ask all participants to act lawfully, help de-escalate any potential confrontations, and refrain from bringing weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted. Join us in remembrance, solidarity, and collective action.
