About
Our Children's Lives Are on the Line. Show Up and Make Your Voice Heard! Nearly 14 years after 20 children and six educators were hunted and murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary School by a 20-year-old gunman with an AR15 and high capacity magazines, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in cases challenging assault weapons bans in Connecticut and Cook County, Illinois. These laws were enacted to protect our families and communities from weapons of war that are designed to efficiently and brutally kill as many people in the shortest time possible. Now, their constitutionality is before the nation's highest court, and the consequences could extend far beyond Connecticut and Illinois. We cannot afford to be silent! On December 2 at 9:30 AM ET, gun violence survivors, families, advocates, and concerned Americans will gather outside the Supreme Court to stand together for our children's freedom to live without the fear of gun violence. We have seen the devastation these weapons cause in Sandy Hook, Parkland, Uvalde, Highland Park, Orlando, Las Vegas, Buffalo and communities across the country. We know what is at stake. The Second Amendment should not mean that Americans must surrender their freedom to feel safe in classrooms, houses of worship, grocery stores, and public spaces. Join us outside the Supreme Court on December 2 at 9:30 AM ET. Stand with survivors and communities impacted by shootings. Stand with families. Stand for the freedom to live. Bring your signs, your friends, and your determination. Let's make sure the voices of those whose lives have been forever changed by gun violence are heard. RSVP today and help us spread the word! Organized by national gun control/gun violence prevention/gun safety groups. #ProtectKidsNotGuns #BanAssaultWeapons #BanWeaponsOfWar #FreedomFromGunViolence #HonorWithAction #EndGunViolence
