About
** 24 hours of solidarity on Nov 2nd at 10AM to 10AM on Nov 3rd at the Federal Building in DTLA ** Prayer, Projections and Unity! This Día de los Muertos, join us to honor and remember the lives taken by ICE and Border Patrol — and to demand an end to the violence. "From the walk to the watch!” For eight days and 96.5 miles, we walked from Adelanto to downtown Los Angeles, retracing the road our detained neighbors are forced to travel and carrying their names to the doors of the Metropolitan Detention Center. The pilgrimage has ended, but the danger has not. ICE activity in our neighborhoods has increased, and immigrant families in our community still live in fear. This 24-hour vigil continues the pilgrimage in a different posture. We walked; now we keep watch. From the eve of Election Day until the polls open, people of many faiths are constantly praying / holding space for our immigrant neighbors, for those detained and their families, for those who have died at the hands of ICE, and for a democracy in which every voice is counted and every person is treated with dignity. Please join us. From 6:30 - 8:30 PM No Camps CA, Shut Down Adelanto, NDLON and DWN are collaborating on a large scale projection at the MDC This action is part of End the ICE Age, a national day of action happening in cities across the country October 31–November 2. We're demanding Congress get ICE out of our communities, redirect ICE funding, and shut down ICE detention centers for good. A core principle behind all Disappeared In America events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
